Prayer and Fasting 2

Hey all,
just got back from my second prayer and fasting.
too much to mention really so I will just mention the bits that were of particular note for me.

Worship:
Anyone who knows me will know that it's in worship where I will always conect with God, I know this is obviously true for every believer, but I guess most people have their 'thing' that really connects them with God, for some it's creation, some its the word...for me it's always times of sung worship. So with that in mind I was so blessed to be able to worship at prayer and fasting.

We started the 2 days with 2 hours of sung worship, focusing on the King Jesus, lifting our eyes and expanding our vision of him. Starting with 'I come into your presence...' I love this song! The theology and meoldy united so beautifully as we declared coperately 'Jesus I trust in you alone.' What an awesome place to start and it just got better...! Within this time of worship there was an incredible section of singing in the Spirit, I found it awe inspiring just to stop every now and again and enjoy the harmonies and melodies of the corperate praise that was being given..then carrying on, joining in with my own tongue.

It's always important to remember that worship is about bringing glory to God first and foremost, it should never be about how we feel. I was especailly reminded of this during the two days as I was suffering from a nasty cold and there's loadsa stuff going on at home at the moment...in the times of worship it's like God lifted my eyes and said, 'Sarah...I know all of that, but hey...I'm still on the throne.' Amen God!

Also worth noting, from another angle...Rhys Scott led the times of worship on the first day so sensitively and beckoned people on in their worship. I also appreciated his style, picking bits from songs here and there and using them just at the right moments...inspired, Holy Spirit insipred....love it!

Terry Virgo
just an aside really, but as Terry shared in times of prophecy and as he prayed and spoke on the tuesday evening I was so struck by his gentleness, his humility, his complete commitment to all that God has called him to, his openess to the Spirit and his steadfastness to the Word of God. As he shared and spoke as a Father figure to the NF churches represented his words were full of such wisdom that can only come from a life lived in the grace of God. Often I'm aware of my youth, of how my tongue runs away with me and my lack of experience, but through all that Terry shared again I was stirred to press on, to commit myself to all that God has called me to and ultimately continue to 'work out my salvation' under the awesome grace of God.

Networking
Although I am a relative newcomer to NF and prayer and fasting I'm already enjoying the whole networking side of it. I'm a real people watcher so I often find it amusing in the breaks to watch everyone head for the coffee and then try and find the person they've arranged to meet for that break! This time I didn't arrange any 'networking' but it was good to catch up with a few familiar faces from training and a few others I've met recently. Also good to bump into my fellow blogger luke, www.lukewood.blogspot.com who faithfully promised that he too would blog about prayer and fasting!

I guess that's all from me on that.....still trying to get over the cold, hopefully a good sleep tonight will do the trick! Supposedly 6 inches of snow in hailsham tonight..it's certainly cold enough!
